Here at Weston, we pride ourselves on our ability to create stunning, tailor-made campervan conversions to suit a wide range of vehicles and budgets.
Our multidisciplined team will design, manufacture, install and commission your new interior with the care, commitment and professionalism that customers have come to expect from Weston Campervans.
We aim to make the entire process as smooth and transparent as possible; our philosophy is based on an honest and up-front approach, with our customers at the very centre of everything we do. From initial consultation through to completion and handover, we will listen to your requirements, develop a specification that works for you, and deliver on your expectations in a timely manner.
How it works
Step one - free consultation
The first thing to do is to meet! We believe in a face to face approach and recognise the importance of getting to know our customers from the get go. Come and visit us at our Market Drayton headquarters and let us know what it is you would like to achieve with your conversion. If you already have your van, then bring it with you so we can fully understand all of the parameters we will be working within.
We'll guide you through all of the options and show you examples and samples along the way. At the end of the consultation we aim to have a good understanding of what your conversion will look like and the appliances and kit that will be included.
Step two - your custom specification
Once we have all your wants and needs, we'll put together a tailor-made detailed specification for you. Your specification document will include a breakdown of all the costs so that you can see which parts of the conversion have what sort of impact on the total price. You may want to phase the work to manage your budget, which is something we can support and advise on. We aim to be honest and transparent throughout and want to make sure everything is clear and concise for you. We will discuss lead-times on supplied goods and our current workshop availability.
Once you are happy with the specification and timings, and give us your instruction to proceed, we will ask you for a 10% deposit payment to secure your booking. This locks you into our build schedule and we can start adding the detailed touches to your conversion. Don't worry if you change your mind on any of the details at this stage - we're happy to amend the specification and/or quotation, if required.
Step three - detailed design
Now we're ready to start finalising the design of your bespoke conversion. Using the very latest 3D CAD software, our team will prepare rendered images of your conversion with everything clearly labelled to ensure that you are always fully aware of what to expect. The only surprises we want you to have are good ones!
At this stage we will agree colours, finishes, electrical specifications, etc. to enable us to lock in your design and begin transforming your new campervan. We'll ask you for a 40% interim deposit payment about 6 weeks prior to commencing work on your van. This will give us time to order in the long lead-time items so that everything is ready on the day.
Step four - creating your conversion
This is when the magic happens! Once your van is with us, we will start to transform it into your dream campervan. We'll kick things off by prepping the van for the roof and windows that might be included in your specification, and getting any other external enhancements in place. Moving on to the inside, we'll sound deaden, insulate, fully wire and then carpet-line your interior in accordance with the agreed specification. Once the flooring is fitted, we will scan the interior with our state-of-the-art 3D scanner so we have a fully digitised CAD model of the inside of your van. This will allow us to prepare accurate drawings of your furniture components which, once cut out on our CNC machine, will fit snuggly in place.
Our experienced production team will then assemble your furniture using professional joinery techniques and install it into your van. Second-fix electrics will follow, along with all the other details to complete your conversion.
Step five - adventure awaits!
Your campervan is now ready for you to drive away! We'll talk you through everything so that you can drive off full of confidence and ready for your first adventure in your new campervan. Before you head off into the sunset, we'll ask you to make the final 50% balance payment, adjusted to capture any agreed design changes along the way.
You can rest assured in the knowledge that all of our conversion work is covered by our 12 month return-to-base warranty, and we are always at the end of the phone should you have any questions about your conversion.
